Today, the structure exists in its expanded form, having been renovated along with the mosque by Emir Ishak Bey in 1510. Inside the mosque is a tomb believed to belong to Shams i Tabrizi. Shams i Tabrizi's tomb and mosque, which held a very important place in the intellectual life of Mevlana, is one of the most visited places in Konya.
