Virgin Mary Syriac Orthodox Church

The Church of the Virgin Mary is an important place of worship that has retained its function from the 3rd century to the present day. Designed as a complex of buildings, it includes the church, the sanctuary of Saint Jacob, four courtyards, classrooms, and lodgings. The church has been repaired many times throughout history, and there are 14 inscriptions related to these repairs. The oldest record among these inscriptions dates back to 1533.
