Abdal Musa Sultan, one of the famous saints and mystics of Anatolia, was also a renowned poet and thinker. Originally from Khorasan, he is known as "Hoylu" because he came to the town of Hoy in Azerbaijan and lived there for a time. He was the son of Hasan Gazi, who was the son of Haydar Ata, the uncle of Hacı Bektaş i Veli. Abdal Musa Sultan was one of the saints of Khorasan and a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. Historical sources state that he lived in the 14th century and participated in battles with Orhan Bey's soldiers during the Ottoman conquest of Bursa, displaying great bravery. He was one of the leading disciples of Hacı Bektaş i Veli.
