The Beykoz Glass and Crystal Museum takes its name from the Beykoz Glass and Crystal Factory, established in this district during the Ottoman period and considered the most important glass factory of its time. The museum's historical building was constructed by Abraham Pasha, who served as the chief doorkeeper of the Egyptian Khedive Ismail Pasha and was later promoted to vizier by Sultan Abdulaziz. In the 19th century, Abraham Pasha built pavilions, aviaries, pools, a theater, and stables on his land in Beykoz. The stable building, which remains today, was restored by the National Palaces Administration and converted into a museum. This U shaped stone building, exhibiting the architectural characteristics of the 19th century, offers unique museum spaces with its magnificent structure.
