Overview

The Çardaklı Bathhouse is located in the Dabanoğlu neighborhood of the Sur district of Diyarbakır, between Kadı Camii Street and Tuzlu Street. Built between 1520 and 1540, the bathhouse belongs to the Hüsrev Paşa Foundation. Expropriated by the Ministry of Culture in 1999, the bathhouse has largely preserved its original architectural features despite undergoing numerous renovations throughout its history. Evliya Çelebi, in his Seyahatname (Book of Travels), mentions the Çardaklı Bathhouse, stating, "It is not known who built it, but it is a clean and bright bathhouse."
