Originally named Semanoğlu Mansion, the building was constructed by the Akkoyunlu dynasty in the 15th century. Used as a headquarters during World War I, the mansion was purchased by the municipality in 1935, renamed Gazi Mansion, and presented as a gift to Atatürk. Located on the western slope of the Ten Eyed Bridge, the mansion is a two story structure. Each floor has an iwan (vaulted hall), with rooms on either side of the iwan. Currently used as a museum, the mansion displays Atatürk's belongings, documents, and photographs. With its views of the Tigris River, Hevsel Gardens, Kırklar Mountain, and the Ten Eyed Bridge, the mansion is a uniquely beautiful place well worth visiting.
