It is one of the most elegant examples of Seljuk architecture, built in the 13th century (around 1275-1277) by the Seljuk Vizier Muineddin Pervane Süleyman. It takes its name from the predominantly turquoise and sky blue tile decorations in its inner courtyard. Purpose of Construction: Initially built as a darüşşifa (hospital), it was later used as a madrasa, bimarhane (mental asylum), and shifahane (hospital).
