Overview

The Haburman Bridge is located in the Çermik district of Diyarbakır, near the village of Haburman, and is built over the Haburman River. Also known as the Çermik Bridge, according to its Arabic inscription, it was constructed between 1179 and 1180 by Zübeyde Hatun, daughter of the Artuklu ruler Necmeddin Alpı, during the reign of her brother, Kutbüddin İlgazi II. Built with meticulous workmanship using cut stone, the bridge is one of the important works reflecting the architectural characteristics of the Artuklu period.
