HACIMUSALAR MOUND

The Elmalı Hacımusalar Mound is located on the Elmalı Kaş highway, 14.5 kilometers southwest of the Elmalı district center, near the center of the Elmalı Plain. It is approximately 1040 meters above sea level. The mound has a circular shape, measuring 300 x 350 meters and reaching a height of 10-12 meters. The mound has high sides and a depression in the center, with terraces visible on its slopes. Since 1994, an excavation team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlknur Özgen, a faculty member of the Archaeology Department at Bilkent University, has been uncovering the mysteries of history at the Elmalı Hacımusalar Mound.
