The Hassuni Caves are caves located in the village of Bahçe in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır. The Hassuni Valley and caves are located on the southern flank of the Southeastern Taurus Mountains, 5 km northeast of the Silvan town center. They are listed as registered archaeological sites prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.[1] Features: The Midyat Formation, which is an Eocene limestone formation, is surrounded by Eocene Oligocene flysch. Dwellings were carved into the rocks in the sheltered cluster type valley. There are approximately 300 cave dwellings and annexes carved from the limestone rocks suitable for workability, connected by corridors and passages. There are a total of 12 cisterns, all connected by water channels and connected by a buoy system.
