Built in 1551 by İskender Pasha, who served as governor of Diyarbakır during the Ottoman period, the İskender Pasha Mansion is notable for its historical architecture and is famous for its 400-year old plane tree. This five century old mansion, with nearly 40 rooms, spacious courtyards, separate sections for women and men, and its size and grandeur, is among the 446 registered houses in the city.
