Karatepe Aslantaş National Park is located in the Kadirli district of Osmaniye province. It is located between the foothills of the Taurus Mountains and the plains of Çukurova. It was declared a national park in 1958. Because it is located in the Mediterranean climate zone, the park can be visited twelve months of the year. It is possible to spend time in touch with nature and have picnics in the day use areas. The Karatepe Aslantaş Archaeological Site, Turkey's first open air museum and home to archaeological artifacts from the Late Hittite Period, is also located within the national park.
