KIBYRA ANCIENT CITY

Located in the Gölhisar district of Burdur, the ancient city of Kibyra is also known as the "city of gladiators." Once one of the most important cities of the Lydian and Roman civilizations, the 2300-year old ancient city of Kibyra is situated on the western slope of the Gölhisar plain, at an altitude of 1100-1300 meters, covered with juniper and cedar forests. The ancient city is located on three hills overlooking the lake and the plain.
