Lake Iznik is the largest natural lake in the Marmara Region and the fifth largest in Türkiye. It is a tectonic freshwater lake. Small deltas and extensive reed beds have formed at the points where streams enter the lake, the largest of which are Karasu in the northeast and Sölöz in the southwest.
