The ninety three kilometer long Manavgat River, which originates on the eastern slopes of the Western Taurus Mountains and flows into the Mediterranean through the strait in the Sorgun region and is fed by large underground springs, forms the Manavgat Waterfall, which falls from cliffs approximately five meters high. Located three kilometers west of the Manavgat district of Antalya, the waterfall bears the same name as the district. Home to many fish and bird species (trout, carp, mullet, sea bass, blackfish, coot, ducks, geese, kingfishers, various species of herons, seagulls, etc.), the Manavgat River also boasts a rich plant diversity with many tree species such as willow, plane tree, poplar, mulberry, and oleander. Furthermore, the river, which offers opportunities for adventure amidst all this natural beauty, offers various nature sports such as rafting and canoeing on certain sections of the river. Manavgat Waterfall, which has been opened to tourism through landscaping designed to suit its natural geography, features recreational areas where visitors can enjoy exploring and receiving services. Boasting a magnificent natural landscape, the waterfall is a great option for those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Source: Manavgat Municipality Travel Guide.
