The Mosque of Solomon and the Tombs of the Companions are one of the most important historical and religious sites in Diyarbakır. While the exact date of the mosque's initial construction is unknown, an inscription on its minaret suggests it was built between 1155 and 1160 during the Nisanoğulları period by Kemaleddin Ebu’l Kasım Ali, who held the title of Cemalüddevle. Its architect was likely Hibetullah el Gürgani, whose name is mentioned in other Nisanoğulları era buildings in Diyarbakır. Also known as the Mosque of Solomon, Nasiriyah, and Kal'a, this structure, being an important place of worship, has undergone additions and repairs throughout history.
