Museum of the History of Islamic Science and Technology

World renowned Islamic science historian Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, who dedicated his life to promoting the history of Islamic science and technology, realized his idea of creating replicas of tools and devices developed and invented in the Islamic cultural world in the 1980s at the Institute for the History of Arabic Islamic Sciences at Frankfurt University. Following a request from the then Minister of Culture and Tourism, Atilla Koç, in 2005 for a similar museum to be established in Istanbul, the museum was opened in 2008 under Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin's leadership.
