The complex, built in 1277 by Sahib Ata Fahreddin Ali, one of the viziers of the Anatolian Seljuk State, was designed by architect Keluk b. Abdullah. The layout of the complex includes a mosque to the north, a mausoleum adjacent to the mihrab wall of the mosque containing the graves of Fahreddin Ali, his wife, and children, a khanqah (Sufi lodge) next to the south wall of the mausoleum, and a double bathhouse directly across the road. The mosque has a portal entrance from the north. Two cells, one above the other, are located on either side of the portal; the lower cells serve as fountains. The Basmala and the Fatiha surah are inscribed on the frame surrounding the entrance. The khanqah (Surah al Fatiha) section of the complex has been organized by the Regional Directorate of Foundations as the Sahib Ata Foundation Museum and opened to visitors.
