In Tarsus district of Mersin, the Tarsus Grand Mosque, also known as "Cami i Nur," is located in the Camii Nur neighborhood and houses the tombs of Prophet Seth, Lokman Hekim, and Caliph Ma'mun. Restoration of the mosque, which began in 2007, was completed in 2008. The minaret, rising independently from the rest of the building to the northwest, was built in 764 AH/1362-1363 AD by Şembeki Aksungur on behalf of the Mamluk Sultan, according to its inscription. According to inscriptions on the main gate and the pulpit, the mosque itself was built in 987 AH/1579 AD by İbrahim Bey, son of Piri Paşa from the Ramazanoğulları dynasty.
