The Tomb of Prophet Dhul Kifl (AS) and Prophet Elisha (AS) - Eğil Prophets -

Prophet Dhul Kifl (peace be upon him), one of the prophets mentioned in the Quran, is described as one of the patient, the chosen, and those rewarded by God. Therefore, he is also considered a prophet. For centuries, it has been believed that the shrine and tomb of Prophet Dhul Kifl (peace be upon him) are located in Diyarbakır. It is thought that this belief has influenced the widespread use of the name Zulkifl in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The Diyarbakır yearbooks of 1883, 1890, and 1900 state that the shrine of Prophet Dhul Kifl (peace be upon him) is located in Ergani and that the shrine has been decorated, repaired, and furnished. However, the view that the shrine of Prophet Dhul Kifl (peace be upon him) is in Ergani and his tomb is in Eğil district is more consistent with the sources and the beliefs of the local people.
