Valla Canyon was formed by the Devrekani River eroding the Küre Mountains in Kastamonu. The formation occurred as a result of the erosion of the limestone formations of the Küre Mountains by the rivers. The river in the canyon flows into the Loç Valley. Valla Canyon's most significant feature is that it is the second deepest canyon in the world, making it the deepest in Turkey. Its depth reaches up to 100 meters in some sections. Crossing the canyon is difficult, long, and risky. There are more than 40 waterfalls within the canyon, and fatalities can occur in the dangerous whirlpools.
